Churches hold holiday services

Faith Lutheran Church, 801 E. Camelback Road, will feature organist William Barnett on Christmas Eve. Traditional carols and special music will be performed at the 5 p.m. family worship. At the 9:30 p.m. candlelight worship, Barnett will conduct the choir while demonstrating the resources of Faith’s mighty 4-manual Moller organ during the extended prelude. Royal Palms Baptist Church, 8802 N. 19th Ave., presents “Wild West Christmas,” a fun children’s Christmas drama about people from the Old West learning about the birth of baby Jesus in their own way, 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, the Adult Choir & Orchestra will perform, followed by a Christmas Cookie Intermission and an encore performance of “Wild West Christmas.” A Christmas Eve Service will take place at 6 p.m. For details, call 602-944-3306 or visit

Central United Methodist Church, 1875 N. Central Ave., will offer four Christmas Eve candlelight services at: 5, 7, 9 and 11 p.m. An inspirational meditation by Rev. Larry Norris will be featured in each of the services. The 5 p.m. service is led by Steve Hilderbrand and includes jazz music, the Children’s Choir, and group singing of favorites carols. The 7, 9 and 11 p.m. “Lessons and Carols” services will feature the Sonoran Brass, The Cathedral Handbell Choir, and the church’s noted Sanctuary Choir.
