Paint-A-Thon homes, volunteers sought

Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun is looking for qualifying low-income elderly, veterans, or permanently disabled homeowners of any age, whose one-story homes need exterior painting for the annual Rock & Roll Paint-A-Thon on Saturday, Oct. 26. Volunteer teams to paint also are being sought.

The Paint-A-Thon is Rebuilding Together’s largest community service program with more than 3,000 volunteers working each year in neighborhoods across metropolitan Phoenix.

To qualify, applicants must own and live in the homes and provide proof of income. Application deadline is Sept. 1. Applications are available by visiting www.rebuildingtogetherphx.org or calling 480-774-0237.

Rebuilding Together provides all paint, paint supplies, T-shirts (up to 25 per team) and insurance for the day to teams of volunteers from families, businesses, churches, schools, social service organizations and civic groups. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and those under 18 need a signed parental permission form. Teams should be between 15 and 25 volunteers.
