Phoenix Baptist Hospital, located at 20th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, offers two class options for expectant parents who are juggling busy schedules.

A four-week Childbirth Education class held on Monday nights begins on Aug. 5 and continues through Aug. 26. The class runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. A weekend class also is available from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 17-18.

Both options are designed for mothers and their partners who have never attended preparation classes; the fee is $50 for either course. The classes cover the physical and psychological changes, hospital admission procedures and routines, cesarean birth, pain management options, and the partner’s role in labor and delivery. Also covered are the stages of labor, relaxation techniques, medical options, and postpartum and infant care.

Both options also include a tour of the labor and delivery, postpartum and nursery units.

For more information or to register for either Childbirth Class option, call Laurie Emig at 602-246-5899 or e-mail lemig@abrazohealth.com. Discounts are available for teen parents or families on AHCCCS.
