The Phoenix Suns and CenturyLink, Inc. have partnered to launch the 2013-14 “Team Assist” program, a community outreach initiative designed to provide new basketball equipment to one Arizona high school varsity basketball program per month, through March 2014.

High school varsity basketball players and coaches, teachers, parents and local community members are encouraged to log on to www.Suns.com/assist to nominate a basketball program based on their teams’ community involvement and equipment need.

Representatives from CenturyLink and the Suns will select one high school per month as the recipient of a $1,000 donation, courtesy of CenturyLink, to be utilized for the equipment outlined in their proposal. The winning schools’ varsity girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will also be invited to attend a Suns home game and will be recognized during an on-court presentation at halftime of their respective game.

In addition, CenturyLink and Suns representatives will select the best entry out of the monthly winners and that basketball program will be awarded a $5,000 donation during an end-of-season assembly at the winning school in April. All donations will be distributed evenly between the boys and girls varsity programs at each high school, though only one of the teams needs to be nominated.
