Banner Alzheimer’s Institute is offering MAPS (Memory Assistance and Planning Session), a full-day class to help families to learn new skills to provide care during the moderate stage of illnesses that cause memory loss.

The workshop will take place 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Foundation for Senior Living, 1201 E. Thomas Road.

Caregivers will learn how to improve communication and avoid arguments, find help as the disease progresses and provide “hands on help” through practicing new skills. A $60 fee covers the cost of instruction, materials, breakfast and lunch.

To register, call 602-839-6850 or email baiinfo@bannerhealth.com.
