Learn what is permissible use of smartphones, tablets or laptops in Arizona state courtrooms and what is not, as well as the latest on the use of cameras and recorders in court. Mark your calendar for Friday morning, Oct. 17, for a free panel discussion on a new rule effective this year governing mobile communication from inside courtrooms and what it means for trial participants, the media and the public.

“Mobile Devices in Courtrooms: New Rules, New Challenges,” starts with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by the panel discussion from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., will be held in the First Amendment Forum at the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, 555 N. Central Ave. Admission is free and the public is invited, but RSVPs are requested to phoenixspj@cox.net.
