The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) and the Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic, in conjunction with PetSmart Charities, have launched a “Beat the Heat” campaign for the month of February.

Did you know that cats can have kittens three times in a year? Valley cat owners who have unspayed female cats can have them fixed for just $20 as part of the program, which aims to prevent the cats from going into heat in February and March.

The Arizona Humane Society is located at 1311 W. Hatcher Road and open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic is at 950 W. Hatcher Road and open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are a limited number of appointments available at this reduced rate. Call AHS at 602-997-7585, option 4, or Barnhart Clinic at 602-943-7729 to make an appointment, and be sure to mention the “Beat the Heat” promotion.
