Sonny arrived at the Arizona Humane Society in critical condition after he was bitten by a poisonous spider, but the yellow Labrador’s life was saved and he made a full recovery in the trauma center.

Pet of the month, Sonny

Now the 6-year-old fellow has a new “leash” on life and is ready to find a loving home. This mellow boy is mature and well trained and enjoys spending most of the day lounging around the house. He will sprawl out in the middle of the hallway for his afternoon nap with the hopes that anyone who passes by him will stop and give him a good belly rub.

Although he is past his puppy stage and doesn’t require vigorous exercise, he would appreciate a casual stroll around the neighborhood each night and a bone to chew afterwards. He is great with other dogs, cats and, of course, kids and is the ultimate family companion.

Sonny’s adoption fee is just $35 and that fee includes his neuter surgery and vaccines. To set up a family meet and greet or for more information call 602-977-7585, ext. 2045 and ask for animal ID number A460439.

Sonny may have been adopted by the time you call, but the Arizona Humane Society has dozens of other animals awaiting their forever homes. Find more information on them at: www.azhumane.org.
