Festival of Arts returns to Herberger

The sixth-annual Herberger Theater Festival of the Arts returns to downtown Phoenix 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Herberger Theater Center Plaza, 222 E. Monroe St.

The Festival of the Arts is a diverse, family-friendly event that celebrates the arts and community with live music, theater and dance performances, children’s activities, food, film shorts, pet adoptions, and more. Admission is $5, free for children 12 and younger and active military/veterans (with ID).

Live music and performances, including hula and steel drum, are scheduled on the outdoor stage. Theater and dance performances on Center Stage and Stage West include aerial, American tribal style belly dance, ballet, ballroom and Latin, choral, contemporary dance, Flamenco, hand bell ringers, Mexican folk dance, and more. New this year, Film Shorts will run all day in the Kax Stage.

The Children’s Activity Area encourages children of all ages to experience a variety of arts and learning craft projects and activities presented by Arizona Science Center, The Bergamot Institute, Children’s Museum of Phoenix, Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona, i.d.e.a. Museum, Music Together and Parenting Arizona. Face painting is courtesy of the APS Volunteer Clown Troupe.
