North Central resident Jayne L. Newmark last December opened Newmark Nutrition, LLC, as a private healthcare practice near Central Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

Newmark Nutrition offers nutrition counseling for clients who want to make healthy eating choices tailored to their individual needs. Weaving nutrition science with the emotional and behavioral aspects of eating, Newmark provides easily understandable guidance to clients who are searching for long-term results. She also presents funny and informative programs on nutrition to small and large groups.

Certified as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D.N.) by the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Newmark has spent more than 30 years in the nutrition field, with particular emphasis on cardiovascular disease, diabetes, weight control, kidney disease, and gluten intolerance.

Newmark served as director of Nutrition Services at the Arizona Heart Institute, writing “Food for Health,” a comprehensive diet book, and creating “Heart Healthy Lessons for Children,” a nutrition education program implemented nationwide. She has designed and run nutrition programs for cardiovascular rehabilitation, adult fitness, weight management, and cardiac transplantation programs, in addition to counseling cardiovascular and diabetic patients on nutrition. Newmark also has provided nutrition counseling for kidney patients in dialysis clinics.
