The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) will be hosting a retail symposium on Tuesday, April 7 from 7:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Phoenix Country Club, 2901 N. 7th St.

Garrett Newland, vice president of Development for Macerich, will deliver the keynote address, “Renewing Retail.” He will discuss the health of retail, what trends retail developers are seeing and what types of joint ventures may be on the horizon.

Leslie Fox, communications director, ICSC, will share insight on Main Street Fairness legislation, which could impact sales tax collection and remittance for out-of-state retailers.

The symposium will open with the panel discussion, “Case Studies–Retail Renewed and Repurposed.” Kim Ryder, Goodwill of Central AZ, will moderate a “Meet the Retailers” session.

The cost of the symposium is $60 for AAED members, $70 for non-members before April 3; and $85 for late registrants. To register, visit www.aaed.com/events.

Vegetarian meals must be requested in advance. For more information, call AAED at 602-240-AAED (2233), or visit www.aaed.com.
