Pet of the Month: Friendly Plott Hound needs loving family

Tootsie

This friendly and loyal 6-year-old Plott Hound mix was severely neglected by her previous owners and is now looking for a loving forever home (submitted photo).

Tootsie’s big and beautiful smile is sure to lift anyone’s spirits; however, that wasn’t always the case. One of hundreds of calls that AHS’ Emergency Animal Medical Technicians (EAMTs) receive in the summer months for pets left in Arizona’s extreme heat with limited access to shade and cool water, the 6-year-old Plott Hound mix was in need of some serious TLC.

Shy, skinny and feeling under the weather, Tootsie went from having little to no care, to a team of medical, behavior and foster heroes devoted to getting the playful and devoted girl a new home. Like many Plott Hounds, she is eager to please and loyal, once she comes out of her shell, and will make a wonderful family member.

As an AHS Hopeful Heart, Tootsie is available for adoption for just $50 at AHS’ Sunnyslope Campus, located at 9226 N. 13th Ave. People interested in meeting Tootsie, ID number A519491, can call Sunnyslope Campus Adoptions at 602-997-7585, ext. 2045 or can stop in to meet her, but please bring other canine family members with you as part of the meet-and-greet.

Tootsie may have already been adopted by the time you reach the shelter, however, AHS has dozens of pets in need of loving homes.
