Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor on Oct. 16 was presented with the Phoenix Rotary 100’s Career-Community Award of Merit. The award is presented in memory of Phoenix Mayor John Driggs, who was also a member of Phoenix Rotary 100 since 1957 and who made community service an integral part of his life.

Rotary District 5490 Gov. Paul Pulicken was on hand to help present the award to Justice O’Connor, who has been an honorary member of the club since 2000 and occasionally attends meetings to catch up with friends. Her husband, John O’Connor, was president of the club from 1977-78. He passed away in 2009.
