The Burton Barr Central Library will be the home of two art exhibits in April, featuring works by watercolorists as well as artwork made by those dealing with the effects of Parkinson’s.

The Arizona Watercolor Association Spring 2015 Membership Exhibition takes place April 5-May 1 on the second floor of the library, located at 1221 N. Central Ave. A public awards presentation and reception for the artists will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16. The exhibition will feature an array of traditional and abstract works in a variety of water media selected by juror Eric Wiegardt, distinguished signature member of the American and National Watercolor Societies.

The Eighth Annual Bruce Florence Parkinson Juried Art Show will run from April 3 through April 27 in the Hive Gallery on the second floor of Burton Barr Central Library, located at 1221 N. Central Ave. The exhibition will feature artwork made by Arizonans living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners. An award ceremony and bilingual concert performance by Tremble Clefs and Voces Unidas will be open to the public 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, April 10 in the library’s Pulliam Auditorium, located on the first floor. These events are sponsored by the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center and the Parkinson Network of Arizona.
