Urban Ale Trail returns on Sept. 12

Urban Ale Trail, like its sister event Urban Wine Walk, is a self-guided walking tour of Downtown Phoenix and light rail corridor bars and restaurants. Downtown Phoenix has emerged as a hotbed for craft beer and Urban Ale Trail allows attendees to sample a wide variety of stouts, lagers, sours and IPAs, all at wallet-friendly prices.

The Urban Ale Trail takes place from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. Sponsor restaurant District American Kitchen & Wine Bar will give away free 64-ounce Urban Ale Trail growlers to the first 300 people who line up at the trailhead, which is at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, 340 N. 3rd St.

Ale Trail is a celebration of all things beer, but it’s also a showcase of the easy-to-use transit system. So grab a light rail pass and spend an afternoon taking in the downtown sites while enjoying tasty drinks and snacks along the way.

Urban Ale Trail is free to attend. Participating bars and restaurants will each offer three different 4 oz. beer samples, priced between $1-$2 each. For a map and list of participating restaurants, visit http://dtphx.org/aletrail.
