The monthly Cancer Support Group offers support for patients, families and community members dealing with all types of cancers. The next meeting is set for 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the meeting room at Bluewater Grill, 1720 E. Camelback Road.

The guest speaker is Joshua LaBaer, M.D., Ph.D., who will discuss “How to Use Our Immune System to Detect Cancer.” LaBaer is director of the Biodesign Institute’s Virginia G. Piper Center for Personalized Diagnostics; Virginia G. Piper Chair of Personalized Medicine; professor, School of Molecular Sciences, Arizona State University; and adjunct Professor of Medicine for the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic.
