Help your children to get creative in the kitchen this summer as they learn a skill that will benefit them for a lifetime.

Kim Hopper of Sierra Bonita Catering is offering summer cooking classes for kids in June and July. The classes are for ages 8-12 and take place at Orangewood Presbyterian Church, 7321 N. 10th St.

Classes take place weekly from Monday through Friday and are $300 per week, plus a $30 registration fee, which includes recipes and a take-home apron. Hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Thursdays. Classes start later on Fridays, at 3 p.m., so that family members may come after work and enjoy an appetizer and meal prepared by their children at the close of the week.

There is an optional Saturday express class for $75; it takes place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. For a full schedule of dates and times, e-mail kim@sbgcatering.com.
