Jimmy Alauria, president of 3A Automotive, wanted to do something special to recognize America’s veterans this month, in conjunction with Veterans Day.

Some estimates are that 22 U.S. veterans commit suicide every day. In order to help bring awareness to this epidemic and support a local solution, 3A automotive will donate $22 of every oil change, through Nov. 11, to Peoria-based Soldier’s Best Friend, which provides therapeutic companion dogs to veteran soldiers suffering from combat-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or traumatic brain injury.

“They actually use only rescue dogs for their program, which they appropriately promote ‘saves two lives’,” Jimmy says. “They also are on a mission to pay off their building so that they can be a debt-free organization and use most all of their operating funds to their cause.”

The cost per service dog is $4,000, including four to six months of training. For those who want to help but don’t need an oil change, 3A Automotive also has launched a GoFundMe campaign. You can find it at www.gofundme.com, keyword search: 3A Auto Phx.

3A Automotive is located at 1539 W. Hatcher Road. For more information, call 602-888-2011 or visit www.3Aautorepair.com.
