Phoenix Rescue Mission is seeking donations, sponsorships and volunteers for its largest community event of the year, its annual Easter Outreach Celebration, Saturday, March 19, featuring food and carnival-style activities for more than 300 struggling families with children.

“We encourage the community to join us in this celebration, either through volunteering, sponsoring or providing event materials,” said Phoenix Rescue Mission CEO Jay Cory. “In fact, we still need 1,200 plastic candy-filled eggs, egg dye kits, plastic spoons, disposable cups, confetti, paper towels, wet wipes and more.”

The Mission also needs 1,500 filled Easter baskets, 300 plush Easter animals, 500 Easter holiday food bags (bags provided), 300 bibles, and devotionals for teens.

Donations for the Easter celebration can be dropped off at the Mission’s Donation Center Warehouse, 1468 N. 26th Ave., Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Donations will be needed by Wednesday, March 16. For large donations, contact Gail Engstrom at 602-346-3372 to schedule a pick-up.
