If you got a lot of new things for Christmas last month and need to make some room for them, or you are ready to get a jumpstart on your spring cleaning, the nonprofit Civitan Foundation would be more than happy to take your gently-used items off your hands.

Civitan, founded in 1968, recently opened a thrift shop called Flerish Design and Resale, located at 12625 N. Cave Creek Road. Civitan trains and places disabled and mentally challenged adults into community jobs. Proceeds from the new resale store will benefit Civitan and its programs.

The store accepts clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, lamps, furniture, kitchen items, office items, books and magazines, toys, electronics and more. A truck is available to pick up larger items Monday-Friday.

Drop off anytime during the store’s hours, which are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays. To arrange a pick-up, call Karin at 602-358-8677.
