Harvey Cox, Hollis research professor of Divinity at Harvard University, will be the first “Theologian in Residence” at Beatitudes Campus from Jan. 16-Feb. 11. He is living at the campus presenting lectures at Beatitudes Campus and throughout the Phoenix area during his month-long residency.

His final public appearance is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1500 W. Maryland Ave. Admission is free.

A world-renowned scholar, Cox is an authority on the interaction of religion, culture and politics. He has written many books, including “Secular City,” which was an international bestseller and selected as one of the most influential books of 20th century Protestant theology. His most recent book is “How to Read the Bible” (HarperCollins, 2015).
