Thirteenorth Bar & Grille, the popular neighborhood restaurant at 1301 E. Northern Ave., is getting into the swing of spring with some fresh ideas.
The next segment of the Guest Chef Invitational, where aspiring chefs and accomplished cooks’ favorite recipes raise money for their favorite charity, is set for Sunday, March 20. This month’s guest chef is neighborhood resident Skip Peeples, who will be directing the preparation of his favorite recipe, carne adovada. It will be served with Southwest coleslaw and corn & black bean salad.
Thirty percent of sales from Skip’s dish will be donated to the New Life Center, an emergency domestic violence shelter for women and children, offering shelter, safety and services to families seeking independent, violence-free lives (www.newlifectr.org).
