In August, the Glendale Union High School District will welcome the return of 15,000 students for the 2016-2017 school year.

To set its students and families up for a year of success, the district would like to invite them to participate in an Open House. Open House is a great opportunity for parents to learn how to activate their student information account, ParentVUE. The system gives parents direct access to their student’s grades, assignments and records. It also allows them to easily communicate with teachers. ParentVUE is a free service offered to our parents, but an activation key is necessary to logon. More information is available at the Open Houses or call 623-435-6022 for assistance.

The event is also a time to interact with teachers and administrators. Most schools offer an abbreviated “class day” for attendees to hear directly from the teacher about what to expect. It’s a fun time too, where sports, clubs, student groups and more are on hand to kick the year off on a good note.

Sunnyslope Open House is Aug.15 at 6 p.m. The school is located at 35 W. Dunlap Ave.

Thunderbird Open House is Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. The school is located at 1750 W. Thunderbird Road.

Washington Open House is Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. The school is located at 2217 W. Glendale Ave.

If you’re unable to attend an Open House, visit your school’s website where you can find the bell schedule, yearly calendar and more.
