The Foundation for Senior Living (FSL) has opened a new Activate Loaner Closet inside St. Joseph’s Hospital, located at 350 W. Thomas Road. The Activate Loaner Closet is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The newly created program is made possible by a grant from Dignity Health. The loaner closet will give patients who are uninsured or underinsured access to items they may not be able to receive through Medicare or Medicaid. Items such as shower benches and chairs, bedside commodes, seated walkers, adult briefs, toilet seat risers, gait belts, Roho cushions, blood pressure monitors and scales.

“We’re really pleased to be offering this new service,” said Kira McClinton, FSL transitional care supervisor. “They are so many patients who simply can’t afford the medications or equipment they need.”

Members of the community can donate medical equipment and supplies or make a cash donation that will help purchase new supplies, provide patients with transportation to and from doctor’s appointments and assist with their prescriptions.

To schedule an appointment or make a donation, call 602-406-1190.
