NOTE: Due to construction delays, the restaurant will now open on July 29, with the Grand Opening celebration scheduled for Aug. 12.

The relocated McDonald’s restaurant at 3149 E. Indian School Road is scheduled to open July 24 and will be the first U.S. restaurant to debut a new McDonald’s interior design scheme.

The restaurant’s design scheme, called Alphabet, uses black-and-white crafted alphabet letters and food illustrations in picture frames to create a simple and sophisticated environment.

Described as “comfortable modern,” the lobby interior will feature and black, white, yellow and natural wood colors; zoned seating areas with a variety of seating types and comfortable configurations; and lower lighting levels in the dining area utilizing pendant fixtures. The restaurant also has free Wi-Fi.

The exterior incorporates glass and metal for a modern look and a dual-lane drive thru that will provide faster service.

The restaurant will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, July 29, offering the Egg McMuffin and Big Mac for $1 each.

Family friendly activities will be featured from 12 to 2 p.m. Ronald McDonald will perform his magic show at 1 p.m.  The first 500 customers, beginning at noon, will receive a “Lovin’ Arcadia” prize.
