Spinato’s Pizzeria, the family owned Chicago-style local pizza chain that celebrates its 43rd year in business this month, is marking its milestone with yet another charitable endeavor.

From Nov. 1-15, if you donate $10 to St. Mary’s Food Bank at Spinato’s you will receive a free dessert. The donations will be used to purchase much-needed turkeys during the food bank’s annual holiday turkey drive.

“Community and giving back is at the core of the Spinato’s playbook,” said Anthony Spinato, vice president of Spinato’s Pizzeria. “We wanted to be able to help families going through a difficult time.”

Spinato’s, located at the northeast corner of 7th Street and Missouri Avenue, is no stranger to partnering with community social service agencies. The eatery has been a longtime partner with the Sojourner Center as well, donating pizzas to the shelter’s residents on National Pizza Day in February, and donating a portion of sales proceeds on occasion to the center, which serves victims of domestic violence with temporary housing, crisis intervention, advocacy services, parenting classes, and more. Sales promotions also have benefited Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
