The Sunnyslope Senior Center, 802 E. Vogel Ave., wants to help its members stay healthy and happy. This month, enjoy a free program on the dangers of sugar consumption, 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18. During the “Not So Sweet Tooth” program, presented by Humana, learn how sugar is bad for your health and what you can do about it.

Seniors also can sign up for a chaperoned hike 8-11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25. This hiking class is catered to those with no mobility barriers. Hikers must bring their own walking stick, water, and snacks. Wear appropriate hiking attire. Cost is $2 for the transportation fee. Pre-registration is required at the front desk.

If you are looking for a more entertaining form of exercise, mosey on down to the center for a Hoedown dance at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20. Wear your blue jeans or best Western wear.

All programs are free with Senior Center membership ($20 annually). The center will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of Labor Day.
