A “Senior Safety Fair” will be held at Devonshire Senior Center, 2802 E. Devonshire Ave., from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8. The event’s purpose is to highlight personal well being and physical safety for older adults in their homes and neighborhoods.

Phoenix Police, Fire, Human Services, Neighborhood Services, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation departments combine resources to provide meaningful presentations and resource information tables.

Special features will include on-site document shredding, digital fingerprinting and I.D. kits, and unwanted prescription medication drop-off, all offered free of charge.

Presentations will include information on Prescription Drug Safety provided by the Area Agency on Aging, Estate Planning presented by Dana Law Group, and Safety House & Fall Prevention presented by Banner Health.

Resource information tables include materials from the Arizona Attorney General’s office, Recycle Phoenix, Neighborhood Services, local transportation options, Hoarding Awareness Task Force, Hospice of the Valley, and Area Agency on Aging Senior Helpline.

Door prizes will be drawn throughout the event. For more information, call 602-256-3130.
