Rally for Rescues is a charity mixed doubles tennis tournament and social, set for 12-3 p.m. Sunday, April 15 at the Camelback Village Racquet & Health Club, 4444 E. Camelback Road.

This three-hour event will raise funds directly for Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL), which annually supports nearly 4,500 shelter animals in the Phoenix metro area. The event will be complete with a light-hearted tennis tournament, pet adoptions and a silent auction, all geared toward raising money for AAWL.

The event is open to players of all levels; participants will need partners, and will play several short, timed, level-based matches. Between games, participants and guests will have time to cuddle with rescue animals looking for their fur-ever homes.

Entry fee is $75 per player, with 100 percent of proceeds donated AAWL. Registration deadline is April 9. For more information or to register, visit http://bit.ly/Rally4Rescues.
