Encanto Park, Side B, The Norton House, as well as the back nine of the golf course and the Executive Course have been officially added to The National Register of Historic Places.

The National Register of Historic Places is the nation’s official list of buildings, structures, objects, sites, and districts worthy of preservation because of their significance in American history, architecture, archeology, engineering, and culture. The National Register is administered by the National Park Service, which is part of the U.S. Department of the Interior.

In 2009, Forbes Magazine named Encanto Park of the nation’s top-12 best city parks, and lifestyle website Thrillist named it one of the nation’s top 15 parks in 2016. This 222-acre oasis offers picnic areas, a lagoon, boathouse, swimming pool, nature trail, urban fishing and two golf courses.
