Starting Saturday, Dec. 1, Christown Spectrum Mall, 17th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, hosts its third-annual “Christown Cringle’s Workshop” every weekend from 12-4 p.m., through Sunday, Dec. 16, near Walmart and Harkins Theatres. This is a free event for the whole family.

There will be an ornament decorating station for kids, where they will be encouraged to decorate the Santa’s Workshop tree that will be donated to a local senior center or children’s home. Children also can make an ornament to take home. Other on-site activities include: Santa’s Mailbox, where children can write their letters to Santa; a big-screen TV featuring holiday classic movies; a face painter; holiday characters like Frosty the Snowman; Christown Cringle Elves reading holiday stories; and more.

New this year, Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen will feature crafts with Mrs. Claus herself. Visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to place on Mrs. Claus’ shelf and toys to fill Santa’s Sleigh. Those who donate a toy or five cans or non-perishable food items will receive a $5 Gift Card to Harkins Movie Theatre. All items will be donated to a Phoenix food bank and a local children’s charity at the end of the season.

In addition, Harkins Movie Theatre gift cards valued at $5 will be given away to the first 100 customers to visit the workshop each Saturday morning.
