North Central Phoenix resident Dr. Denise Mills has been elected to the board of directors of Esperança, a Phoenix-based nonprofit organization that works to improve health and hope in the poorest communities in the world.

She is a faculty member of Midwestern University, College Dental Medicine-Arizona.

Mills earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University and a DDS degree from UCLA. She also has a Master’s Degree in Health Education.

Mills is a member of the Black Board of Directors Project, a 36-year-old advanced leadership organization that empowers its members as leaders in Building A Great Tomorrow-Today by focusing on economic advancement, public policy, and institutional change.
