The personal finance website WalletHub last month released an in-depth report on 2018’s Most Pet-Friendly Cities, and Phoenix ranked in the top-50 in several categories.
In order to determine the rankings, WalletHub compared the creature-friendliness of the 100 largest cities across 24 key metrics.
Phoenix ranked (per capita) 18th in pet businesses, 25th in pet-friendly hotels, 28th in veterinarians, and 38th in pet caretakers. Surprisingly, Phoenix also ranked third out of the 100 cities reviewed for the number of animal shelters per capita.
