Two new quick service restaurants opened last month at the Christown Spectrum Mall.

The Halal Guys opened on Friday, March 2 on the west end of the Christown Spectrum Mall, at 1818 W. Montebello Ave., Ste. B-18. Part of a nationwide franchise, the Central Phoenix location is the second in the state, joining the Tempe eatery near Arizona State University.

The menu features chicken or gyro meat and falafel (vegetarian) served either in a pita wrap or in a platter with rice and salad. Sides include hummus, baba ganouj, or French fries. The dessert is a simple baklava (two to a box).

Cicis, which offers an unlimited pizza, pasta, salad, soup and dessert buffet, opened a new location on March 5 just a couple of doors down from the Halal Guys. The company’s second restaurant in Phoenix, located at 5715 N. 19th Ave., is the third Cicis in Arizona.

Cicis, best known for its $5 buffet-style service, now offers customers the ability to create their own personal pizza included in the price of the buffet. If you don’t see what you want on the buffet, there are thousands of ways to customize it. No matter the combination, you can pick up to four toppings to have a pizza made just for you.

Cicis offers WiFi and a game room. For more information, call 480-702-3644, visit www.cicis.com or find them at Facebook.com/cicis.
