Joan Matlock, a licensed marriage and family therapist, has launched a new practice as The Women’s Therapist at The Peak, 7301 N. 16th St., suite 102. Matlock is a Phoenix native who spent almost 40 years in California, and recently returned Arizona.

Matlock focuses on the unique issues that women share and that are often left unattended as women strive to “do it all.” Symptoms may show up as stress, depression or anxiety, overall fatigue, and a longing to be seen, heard and valued.

“I work with women, to honor the changes in their bodies, relationships and roles, to discover their strengths and resilient nature. I find that as self-awareness and self-acceptance is nurtured, relationships and circumstances shift and symptoms decrease,” Matlock explains.
