Local restaurateur Nick Neuman of EVO in Scottsdale last year opened a tasty new sandwich shop in downtown Phoenix. Named Breadwinner, this stylish all-day hangout serves up a compact yet hearty menu of sandwiches, wraps and salads inside a welcoming, custom designed space.

Tucked inside The Churchill, an innovative restaurant and retail complex constructed out of old shipping containers, Breadwinner (901 N. 1st St.) features creative twists on traditional sandwiches such as muffeleta, Cuban, roast beef or oven-roasted turkey. All sandwiches (priced between $9-$12) can also be prepared as wraps, and will be served in eco-friendly butcher paper at the community seating. Plus, enjoy farm fresh salads, hearty sides and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

At Breadwinner, guests order at the counter, and then pick out a spot inside The Churchill’s central courtyard featuring communal seating.
