Vice Admiral Yancy Lindsey, Commander, Navy Installations Command, class of 1980, and his wife, Stacey, class of 1981, toured the school and talked with students about their love story at Phoenix Christian and their service in the U.S. Navy.

While on campus, Lindsey asked a junior, Hana Marz, to join him on stage while he congratulated her on her recent call during the school’s One Dollar A Week Call-athon (OAW) campaign. During this campaign, students call the more than 4,500 alumni to ask them to contribute $52 or one dollar a week to Phoenix Christian. The vice admiral presented Hana with a special “Challenge Coin,” which is engraved with Lindsey’s name.

Lindsey is a native of central Phoenix who graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and holds master’s degrees in military studies from the Marine Corps University and global leadership from the University of San Diego. He served as a flag officer as the 89th commandant of Naval District Washington; Commander, Navy Region Southwest and as Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central. Lindsey started his role as the 7th Commander of Navy Installations Command in May of last year. The Lindseys live in the Washington, D.C. area.

The vice admiral told students, “Whatever dreams you have, you can pursue them!”
