Wessel and Baker Contracting, LLC, has created a new division to help homeowners tackle DIY home renovation projects.
The construction company, which is owned by husband-and-wife-team Zach and Brandee Wessel and performs residential remodeling services, now offers “DIY With an Expert.” Through this new endeavor, Wessel and Baker Contracting charges an hourly rate, which depends on the size of the project, to help answer questions about whether walls are load-bearing, if the homeowners need a permit to do their work and other important topics. DIY With an Expert also reviews projects, plans and permits before the homeowners begin their projects.
Home renovation projects have become popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly kitchen, bathroom and outdoor living space home improvement work, Brandee said. She added that many people also are doing home refreshes including painting, adding new flooring and making other simple updates.
Often the homeowners become stuck and feel like they are in over their heads and they need help, Brandee said. Wessel and Baker’s new endeavor aims to prevent homeowners from spending more money than they need to on doing their own home improvement work.
