After being closed since November 2020, Los Sombreros reopened its Uptown Phoenix in early February.

The Uptown location at 3rd Street and Camelback Road was temporarily closed to focus operations on its Scottsdale location and Mesa location, which opened in 2020.

“It’s great to be welcoming guests back to our Uptown location,” said Kurt Riske, Los Sombreros owner. “We’ve given our patio a refresh, just in time for spring in Arizona, and introduced some new Mezcal-inspired cocktails and shareable plates to the menu. And of course, you can never go wrong with our Steve-a-Rita margarita.”

The restaurant features Oaxacan-inspired Mexican cuisine with deep flavors, texture and colors — all in a casual contemporary space. All Los Sombreros locations have lush spacious patios perfect for enjoying cocktails, shareable plates and signature dishes such as the Puerco en Chipotle — all-natural, hormone-free pork, marinated for six hours, slow roasted for six hours, then finished on a wood-fire grill for those charred crispy edges. Another popular dish is Riske’s favorite — the Pollo con Espinacas, grilled bone-in chicken breast in chipotle-spinach cream sauce. New to the menu are shareable plates, which give guests a chance to sample a variety of Central Mexican favorites.

For those who want to take advantage of the Phoenix weather, a refreshed patio features lush plants, a plant wall and hanging twinkling star lanterns, creating the perfect vibe for an afternoon or evening with friends.
