    “We know it’s tough out there right now. A lot of folks just don’t have the extra cash to repair their windshield but if they don’t those chips will run out and it will cost them even more.

    “We wanted to do something nice for the neighbors who have been so good to us over the past 18 years so we said, ‘Why not do free chip repairs?’”

 

If you are one of the unfortunate motorists who gets a “star” on your windshield from a wayward stone, you have two options: fix it fast or leave it and hope it doesn’t spread to a long, ugly crack across your windshield.     “Every windshield we can repair instead of replace is one less going into the trash,” Hittenberger points out. “It’s unfortunate, but windshields aren’t recyclable so if they can’t be saved they just add to the ever-expanding landfill.”
