Arizona Cactus Pine Council is one of 36 councils nationwide chosen to participate in the Girl Scouts Forever Green Community Action Project. Troops and individuals have taken on various projects to participate in this program.

            Girl Scout Troop #2315 from Madison Simis Elementary was approved through Nike to conduct a ReUse-A-Shoe drive. Shoes collected will be recycled into court and plaground surfaces; to view this process go to www.nikereuseashoe.com.

            The young ladies from Troop #2315 received 300 shoes from Simis families. Shoes that did not meet the recycling criteria were donated to a shelter for families.
