Kids take their own ‘Art Detour’

As a companion event to this year’s Art Detour, Artlink hosts a Kids Detour event 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday, at Phoenix Center for the Arts, 1202 N. 3rd St.

Younger patrons can create art to take home, wear, give away or whatever their little hearts desire. Kids will visit a designated area of the Phoenix Center for the Arts to choose from a variety of art projects to participate in, as well as to enjoy story time with an author.

To make the walk itself more fun for kids, a designated number of kid-friendly venues will stamp “passports” as they pass through, culminating in a gift bag for fully stamped passports. This year’s Kids’ Detour also includes live, kid-friendly entertainment.

The event is free. For more information, visit http://www.artlink phoenix.com or call 602-256-7539.
