Brophy College Preparatory captured its second 5A Division I football championship title in the past three years after defeating Phoenix Desert Vista 34-21 on Dec. 8.
 The Broncos were led by senior Bryan Berens, a second year quarterback who threw three touchdown passes that all connected with senior Sean Lieb. Lieb also scored a fourth touchdown on a slotback pass from Drew Maggi. The Broncos ended a spectacular season with a 12-2 record under Coach Scooter Molander.
