Great Re-Use-athon takes place Feb. 25

The Arizona Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers announces the second-annual Great Re-Use-athon, set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Town & Country Shopping Center, southeast corner of 20th Street and Camelback Road.

The Great Re-use-athon’s goal is to educate and benefit the community, and support green living in Arizona by helping the public de-clutter without filling landfills.  The public is invited to bring papers to shred (1 box free), and household items to be recycled, consigned, donated and/or reused.

The event features several companies specializing in re-sale, re-use, and recycling of household objects who will be on hand to accept items during the event. Corporate Sponsorship is provided by U-Haul, Office Max (928 W. Camelback Road), as well as NAPO-AZ associate members Shred-It, Rubbish Works, and Classy Closets (offering a drawing for a free closet).

Other organizations involved include Homeward Bound, a charity assisting at-risk families, and the City of Phoenix Recycling Education. Town & Country Shopping Center has resident shops that also will be involved, as well as other Camelback Corridor businesses.
