The Biannual Teen Rummage Sale returns to the Acacia Branch Library 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 12. Donations of gently used toys, tools, and housewares are needed. Tax receipts can be provided. Then on the day of the sale, come shop and help support the library raise money for teen programs. Acacia Teen Council members will volunteer at this community event in order to fund their Summer Reading Programs. Other teen events happening this month include Game Day, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, March 17. Listen to music, play Nintendo Wii and Guitar Hero, or enjoy a board game. Karaoke Monday returns 6:30-7:30 p.m. on April 7. Join in the fun by singing or watching others sing with the Karaoke machine. Programs are for ages 12-18. Speaking of teens ... the library is seeking teen volunteers for 2-3 hour shifts, once a week. Assist the staff, help with teen events, and help out in the Children’s Area. Remember, volunteer work in your community looks great on those college applications. To volunteer, fill out a form at the reference desk. The Acacia Library is located at 750 E. Townley Ave. |
