Anaya anchors the CBS 5 News 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. She joined CBS 5 News in January 2003. She won her first Emmy Award for reporting while anchoring newscasts for KPNX-TV from 1992-1998. Community Volunteer Fair 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 Orangewood Nazarene Church 7510 N 27th Ave. 602-995-2933 Anyone who is looking for an opportunity to volunteer should attend the LifeBridge Community Volunteer Fair. This is an opportunity for interested adults and teens to meet some of the people who are recruiting volunteers, win a door prize, and enjoy some good wholesome entertainment. Some of the partner agencies participating are: Gabriel’s Angels, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (city of Phoenix), Beatitudes DOAR, Desert Mission, Washington Elementary Schools, and others. There will be several orientations following this event. These are required before participation in events that are sponsored by LifeBridge Community Volunteer Center. PC President’s Invitational Scholarship Golf Tournament 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 Palm Valley Golf Club 2211 N. Litchfield Road, Goodyear 602-285-7684 This is a charity event to raise funds for student scholarships at Phoenix College, 12th Avenue and Thomas Road. Individual golfers pay $90, foursomes pay $350. Registration begins at noon, followed by a shotgun start. A barbecue awards dinner begins at 6 p.m. There also will be a silent auction and raffle prizes. A portion of the fees are tax deductible.
