Local schools benefit from Target shoppers
Target recently announced the Arizona school recipients in the Take Charge of Education® school fundraising initiative.
Only a few schools in the Washington Elementary School District benefited from the program, including Mountain View, Orangewood and R.E. Miller elementaries and Royal Palm Middle School. The Osborn School District fared a little better, with Clarendon, Encanto, Longview and Montecito elementaries, along with Osborn Middle School, receiving payouts.

Nearly every school in the Madison School District received funds, including Meadows, Park, Rose Lane, Camelview, Heights, Simis, and Madison No. 1.

In the Glendale Union High School District, Sunnyslope and Washington high schools each received funds, as did the Phoenix Union High School District’s Central and Camelback high schools.

Take Charge of Education allows Target guests to designate an eligible K-12 school of their choice and have Target donate an amount equal to 1 percent of their REDcard (Target Visa Credit Card, Target Credit Card and Target Check Card) purchases made at Target and Target.com. Target also donates 0.5 percent of Target Visa Credit Card purchases made everywhere else Visa credit cards are accepted.

Several private and charter schools in North Central Phoenix also collected funds recently, including: All Saints Episcopal Day School; Brophy College Preparatory; Crittenton Youth Academy; Most Holy Trinity School; Phoenix Hebrew Academy; St. Francis Xavier School; Valley Cathedral Christian School; Valley of the Sun School and Rehabilitation Center; Westwind Preparatory Academy; and Xavier College Preparatory.

Donated to schools twice a year, Take Charge of Education dollars can be used for whatever schools need most from technology to books and school supplies to artist-in-residence programs. As the program enters its 11th year, Take Charge of Education has donated more than $229 million to more than 100,000 schools nationwide.

Cardholders and school representatives can visit Target.com/tcoe, call 800-316-6142 or log on to kiosks at Target stores to enroll, select a school or check the status of payouts.
