Rock ‘N Rail Block Party July 12 |
The city of Phoenix and METRO, the group overseeing construction and operation of the light rail transit, are hosting a Summer Block Party 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the southeast corner of 19th Avenue and Camelback Road. The tented event will take place on the new park and ride lot at that location; follow signs for visitor parking.
The family-friendly event will include music, free food (like hot dogs and ice cream) and giveaways, as well as local vendors selling their wares. METRO and the city of Phoenix have been hosting these parties along the light rail route to celebrate the close of construction along certain line segments and to thank the surrounding neighbors for their patience during construction.
