Care Card event returns to Valley
The Board of Visitors (BOV) announces its ninth-annual “Shop, Save, Give” Care Card shopping event, to take place Oct. 17-26. The primary beneficiary will be Ryan House.
Care Cards are available for purchase for $50 from retailers and at www.TheCareCard.org for $55; Care Cards also can be purchased through the Care Card hotline staffed by Kathy Rios at 602-235-9554. More than 400 participating retailers will grant a 20 percent discount to card holders during the specified 10 days.

Care Card’s shopping week allows consumers to “power shop” at a perfect time, right before the start of the 2008 holiday season. Cardholders can begin their holiday shopping for everything from jewelry to hardware, furniture to fashions. The impressive increase in sales during the Care Card shopping event has inspired a large and diverse group of retailers to participate each year. A complete list of retailers is available on the Care Card Web site. Retailers begin selling Care Cards the week of Sept. 17.

Since its inception in 1999, more than $1 million has been donated to local nonprofits through the Care Card event. The Board of Visitors is Arizona’s oldest charitable organization, comprised entirely of volunteers. For more information, visit www.TheCareCard.org.
