Wine, bourbon dinners at Biltmore
The Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa is uncorking its 19th season of Winemaker Dinners, holding eight monthly epicurean events Oct. 2 through May 7, 2009 in Wright’s at The Biltmore.
The Winemaker Dinners will showcase wineries from California’s famed wine-growing regions of Napa Valley and Sonoma County. The dinners range from four to six courses, depending on how many wines will be served. The schedule includes: Swanson Vineyards, Napa Valley, on Oct. 2; Clos de Val, Napa Valley, on Nov. 6; and Chalk Hill Estate, Sonoma County, on Dec. 4.
The evenings begin with a reception at 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.  The cost is $135 per person. A season ticket for all eight dinners is $945 per person, in advance. Tax and 18 percent gratuity will be added.  For reservations, call 602-954-2507.
Also in October is the return of the Biltmore’s “Bourbon & Cigar Dinner,” combining gourmet dining, premium bourbon and fine cigars. Guests can now light it up again at the resort on Oct. 16.
Also held in Wright’s, the dinners feature a menu of Wright’s signature American Lodge Cuisine and both pre-dinner and after-dinner receptions on the restaurant’s beautiful patio and lawn.
The Oct. 16 Bourbon & Cigar Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the pre-dinner reception where guests smoke cigars and sip bourbon. After dinner, guests will return to the patio and lawn area for dessert, after-dinner drinks and continued cigar smoking. An array of top-brand cigars will be offered and selections from the Jim Beam Small Batch Bourbon Collection will be poured. The cost is $115 per person, plus tax and gratuity. For reservations, call 602-954-2507.
